I was invited to spend 2 weeks in 2020 on residency at Top Shed by Sue Maufe. I had intended to spend my time walking, exploring the unknown landscapes of Norfolk and reading. While I did manage this to some extent, I found myself utterly distracted by the gravel in Sue’s garden. I had seen very little flint until that point, so I spent most of my time getting lost in the fossilised little universes of this beautiful stone.
